ARGOLIS. Argos. Circa 470s/460s-440s/430s BC. Triobol (Silver, 14 mm, 2.95 g, 11 h). Forepart of a wolf at bay to left. Rev. A with pellet below with two small incuse squares above; all within shallow incuse square. BCD Peloponnesos 1024 (this coin). Jameson 1254 (this coin). Traité 1200, pl. XXXVII, 23. Rare. A beautifully toned example struck in high relief and with an illustrious pedigree. Light edge bump on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
